For the past couple of years, René Geneva has been working with this unique organic and chemical free fabric that she found while traveling and meeting with indigenous tribes in Central America. In 2007, this tribe was affected by Hurricane Felix and proceeds from this sale will go back to the efforts to restart our fair trade sewing project with this tribe.
The only way for us to obtain this fabric is to physically bring it home from our travels. It is extremely rare, and we are delighted to share it with you.
Made from the bark of a tree found deep in tribal country of Central America, this unique treasure begins with the Indigenous People's forming the fabric with nothing but water and mallets. Then we custom make this organic corset to your measurements with hempsilk and hemp twill. Nothing more original or show stopping.
As always, all of our clothing is fair trade, dyed with Low Impact dyes, Made in the USA, Carbon Neutral with our Fashionably Carbon Neutral Program™, helps higher causes such as our Sun Power Project™, and the production scraps from the making of this coat are donated to local schools or children's art project with our Scraps for Schools™ program.
